Recruitment Information

"It is evident that not only the officers,

but that every individual soldier knows perfectly what he has to do;

the discipline is carried out without severity; the officers are attached to the men,

the men to the officers"

Sir John Moore

Requirements

To join the 2/95th Rifles we require that Riflemen be over the age of 17 years, fairly fit and be able to make their own way to events. You must attend a full weekend away with the unit at either a training session or event. This is so you get a chance to meet us and to experience re-enacting a Rifleman before making any commitment.

Uniform and Accruements

There's no easy way round this, it's going to cost a pretty penny or two. We don't expect that you turn up on the first day fully kitted up. We recommend that you buy your uniform and equipment in stages over the first couple of years. To help you whilst you are getting your kit together, the unit can lend you some of it's spare uniforms etc.

Legal and Safety Matters

To be able to purchase and fire your Baker Rifle, you will need to apply for a Shotgun Certificate and Explosive License. These are obtained from your local Police Authority. We take the safety of our members and the public very seriously and require every Rifleman to take an annual Accreditation Test.

Women and Children

The women play a vital role in the our living history encampment, and the same high standard is expected of their clothing and accruements. Click on the link for dedicated page for the ladies WOMEN'S INFO
